Munich has a tight network of public call boxes, you shouldn't walk more than some hundred meters to find one. Since a few years the colour changed from bright yellow to silver-pink. You can still find both, the silver-pink ones might have some extra features. Most of the call boxes only work with telephone cards, only a few accept coins. The cards are sold at post offices, some petrol stations and kiosks. The minimum value of a card is 6 DM.
To call Germany from abroad dial 0049.
Munich´s prefix is 089. If you call from abroad leaver out the 0, so dial 0049-89.
