The Englische Garten(English garden) is with its 366 hectare size the city's biggest park. It was founded 1781, at this period people wanted to have natural looking parks in stead of the very arranged and geometric French gardens they had before. Nowadays the garden is frequented by locals for playing games, music or sunbathing. At one end there is probably the only nudists area close to the city center in the world.
